Good morning on Saturday!
Good morning my beautiful sistas!
Go**** is a gorgeous day here! It's SIXTY DEGREES out there! Love it!
I am busy, busy this morning. Trying to get it together to keep this boys this afternoon. I'm meeting Christie at the grocery store parking lot at 12:30 to switch off the kids. So I have to get there about an hour earlier to do my grocery shopping. Lots to do!
Little Miss Maybelle is an escape artist! This morning she and I were out on the front deck. We have a porch rail that goes all around and the gates were closed, so I wasn't paying a lot of attention. I was checking emails, etc., on my phone. Next thing I know I hear the leaves crunching and I look up, and Maybelle is gone! OMLord. She squeezed through the banisters, I guess. I didn't see her do it, but I did have to chase her through the neighbors' yards in my NIGHTGOWN, ROBE and SLIPPERS! LOL! I'm sure I put on a good show for all the neighbors.
This morning I implemented our new diet: no animal fat or protein and no dairy for Butch right now. Dr. Garth told us about an amino acid in animal protein that cancer cells positively THRIVE on! I don't know if I can make the switch successfully to a full vegetarian, and I sure don't know if Butch can, but I'm determined to try. So when I go to the store today, I'm going to buy Almond Milk instead of dairy milk, tofu and some other things that Dr. Garth gave me recipes for. We'll see how it goes.
This morning I did cook steel cut oats and milled flax seed together for our breakfast. It was good. I added cinnamon and dried cranberries. I don't have any agave nectar, so I used just a bit of brown sugar for sweetner, but I'll buy agave nectar at the store. Now I love bacon and eggs and sausage as much as anybody, but I'm banning them from the house for the time being. I want my husband to LIVE! And I don't want to get cancer myself. So we will try to change our diet for the better.
Well, I need to scoot, as our sweet Trish always says! Love you all!
Vickie I love Dr Garth's way of thinking!!!!! I wish I could go pick his brain!!!!! Order this cook book its wonderful!

Carla
Afternoon Vic and Carla and OFF family yet to come in!!!
Vic ****ers can and will get out if they can!!! LOL Glad you found her right away!!! I remember one time I chased Spike down the street in my night gown....all 334 pounds of me!!! Now THAT was a sight to see!!! NOT!!!!!! Vic you are such a good cook and can make foods taste so good!!! Me I would give up and just eat whatever.... I know...shame on me!!! Wish you the best of luck to keep that man of yours healthy!!!
Carla That Forks over Knives my Chiro doc preaches that ALOT!!!!!!!!!! I would love that!!! I think if I could stop buying all these chips and stop drinking I could get this extra weight off!!! I only drink one a day IF that...also only one pop a day IF that also!!!! Might stop drinking coffee also as I use ALOT of creamer in that!!!! I could drink plain tea!!!!!!! I HATE how I look again!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I bet you are getting so excited to be going to see your Grandbaby!!! Gosh a year old already!!! WOW!!! Time sure has flown!!!
It is so dam cold here today!!! We had sleet, hail and rain!!! Then the sun poked out for a little bit. BRRRRRRR I really do think Father Time needs to pay Mother Nature a "visit" so she can relax!!!!!!! Gosh!!!! Rick brought our fireplace in and hooked that up so we could take the chill off. Nice!!! We are going to Bingo tonight...yes he is going with me!!! Shocker huh? LOL Seems that since I had my so called friend/tenant's aid's car towed last week for parking for TWO HOURS along the curb in a no parking area...she is pissed off and not talking to me now she isn't going with me. I am up to my ears with Pat and his nose in everyone's business but his own so I told him to go with her...so I told Rick he could go with me. LOL Carol thinks that her aids car never should have been towed...there were atleast 12-15 spots open she could have parked in and chose that area!!! Now what if a fire truck or the squad had to come in?????? HELLO!!!!!!!!?????!!!!!!!! I told my boss what happened and she said I did the RIGHT THING!!!!!! Even the police told me to have it towed!!!!!!!!!!!! I sat and waited for the owner to come out for over an hour before I called to have it towed!!! I had no idea who it belonged to!!!!! Police said it wasn't stolen...we knocked on several doors nobody knew...never thought it was over at Carol's...WAY over on the FAR side from where this aid parked!!!!!!!!!!! Any other time they park close to where they are going to work...NOT MY PROBLEM SHE PARKED IN A NO PARKING AREA!!!!!!!!!!! Now IF it was someone else parked in front of Carol's like that and I had the car towed....oh I would be the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it was HER aid that it happened to!!!!!!!!! So I am not here to make friends...I am here to do a job and like my boss said I am doing it WELL!!!!!!! End of story!! Carol can build a bridge and get over it!!!!!!! Pat...he is another story......GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Sooooooo nothing else happening here...just playing on PC...supposed to have more training Monday on work PC...LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO yeah OK. Won't go into that it upsets me to no end!!!
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSS
Hello Judy....I was posting when you were. I have had you on my mind all day. I am glad to see you here, then I know you are okay! Well, as okay as you can be on the FARM!!!! Still problems with Carol and Pat....they just don't get it!! Your boss loves the work you do so keep doing it. You aren't there to open a fan club.
I think I am gong to try to order that book Carla mentioned. I have also heard somethings about it. Might just help!! I am so totally upset at how I look!!!
I hope you and Rick win big at BINGO tonight!!! Have a good time!
I agree about Father Time...he is not helping the situation with Mother Earth at all!! Time for an intervention!!!!
Oh my...the dreaded PC training...I won't go into it.
Call me one of these days....I am missing you!!
I love you girlfriend ....hugs....connie d
Good afternoon Vickie and everyone.....
Vickie.....Hope you ended up being able to get your shopping done with out your two little helpers!! Wow....I can do with out red meat and have for a long time. I can't imaging giving up seafood and ground turkey. Chicken either. I wish you the very best. I know you will do everything you can to make it work.
Have fun with Benny Pop and Budder Bean!!!!! I am sure they miss you when you aren't around. How is Patty Kate doing with her new sister? I am sure the boys will love her!! So Maybelle already decided to explore the neighborhood....hmmmm could be a long two weeks...LOL!!! The neighbors probably loved watching you running around trying to catch her! I hope you all have a good day together!!! I love you!!
As for me...still hanging in there. The sun is shining and the trees are so beautiful. Finally the humidity has dropped!! I am so happy to have my windows open. We have a high today of 50 low last night of 32. I wish I could go outside!!
The new med increase so far is working out. I am on 120 mg of Cymbalta for my Fibromyagia pain. I think Eileen was on this too. I take Flexeril for spasms, between 20 and 60 mgs a day. What does anyone here take for arthritis pain???
Wishing you all a beautiful day!!
Prayers as always for out fabulous OFF Family.
Loads of love and bunches of hugs to you all....connie d
Whew! What a day so far! Butch and Benny have gone to get haircuts, and I finally got Budder to take a nap. Precious minutes of peace and quiet now!
I bought a bunch of new stuff at the grocery store this morning: tofu, almond milk, soy milk, and a ton of fresh fruits and veggies. For lunch I fixed pinto beans, corn bread, cantaloupe, and I pan fried some sliced squash, new potatoes and onion together in a little butter/olive oil. I also gave the boys cheese sticks to round out their meal. Budder ate every bite of his. Not sure what I'll make for supper tonight. Right now I'm so full I can't even think about food.
Carla, I will check on that cookbook. Thanks! So proud of you for getting back down to goal. Way to go!
Judy, do NOT drink sodas!!! Or alcohol. Those are just empty calories. You know that! C'mon, you can do it. Just say "no" to soda. LOL!
Dr. Garth told me to buy a bar of 70% cacao chocolate bar and just have one small square of that whenever I get the craving for sugary treats. I bought a bar of 70% last week and it was pretty bitter. So this morning I bought a bar of 60%. I haven't tried it yet, but I will.
Well, I need to do some crochet while I have a bit of quiet time. Still trying to finish up those baby gifts so I can mail them on Monday. I have almost finished the little bunny blanket, except for the finish work and sewing 14 little bunny tails on it. I have all the pieces made for two sweater sets, but I have to sew the sweaters together and then add the borders. Maybe I'll make it in time. I'll take pics but I won't post them on FB until after the baby shower next week.
Connie, hun, I hope you're feeling better today. Please take good care of you! You're mighty precious to all of us here.
Love you all!
Well, here I am, better late than never. Busy, crazy day.
First, when I woke up, it was cold and very damp. I was not taking my arthritic joints to any soccer field. If the sun had been out, it would have been entirely different. However, I did tell Colleen I'd give her Frankie's water bottle at the field. Plus, I'd baked a batch of sugar cookies for them to take back to the campground, which is only 30 minutes away. They took their new pop-up out for the first time. They went with Trent's sister, and her family. Their daughter is nine months older than Izzy, and their son is a year younger than Sean.
So, I met them at their house, and also lent them my tabletop barbecue grill. After that, I drove to the Toyota dealership, and they replaced the back seatbelt system. I was there for two and a half hours. The young man who took care of me apologized for how long it took to complete the job, and told me they had to remove my back seat.
After I got home, I did some chores. Now, I'm vegging in front of the TV.
I spoke with my sister this evening. She had to go to the ER today, she was oozing from her incision. The hospital where she had surgery is 45 minutes from her house, and requires driving into, and out of Philadelphia. So, she went to one much closer. She is grateful that she's already seeing the surgeon on Monday. Please continue to pray for her. I'm concerned about the real possibility her extreme obesity will cause problems with her incision healing. Also, she's experiencing the same emotions I had while I had to wait for myy broken foot to heal. Cabin fever, being entirely dependent on Mom after being totally independent from her for the past forty years, fatigue, feeling weepy, and angry. I totally empathized with her. On Thursday, I wanted to call Mom's iPhone so Eileen could talk to the Munchkins on Fracetime. The kids love seeing the person their speaking with on the phone. She told me that Mom was in a bad mood, so she didn't want to bother her then. I get frustrated because Sis only uses a landline. She's owned an iPhone 4s since they first came out. She used it about a month, and hasn't used it since. She doesn't have Internet. She received a Dell laptop, and a Nook at her 60th birthday party two years ago. I had asked her if it could be installed and I'd pay for it, when I was living there. She agreed to it, but never arranged for the installation. So, if I want to share pictures, or articles with her, I have to send it to her work e-mail. So, when she was having her surgery, she realized she needed to get set up with Internet, because her involvement with Special Olympics requires e-mail. She said she was going to get it done then. But, it's been ten days, and as far as I know, it hasn't been installed. I know if I'd been able to get online when I was staying there I probably wouldn't have sunk so far into the pit.
Vickie, I'm confused. Did you take Miss May Belle home for keeps, or a trial visit? As for going vegitarian, I am an omnivore. I like steak, and fried chicken alongside my corn on the cob and baked potato in the summer.
Connie, I hope you start having better days than the rough ones. It was too cold today for my windows to be open.
Judy, I sure hope the computer training becomes a better experience for you. As for your tenants, I would try my best not to let their childish tantrums effect your mood. I was lucky when I started teaching. I already had a good sense of humor. It helped me so much to be amused by the things my rebellious, angry students said or did.
Must scoot.
Love,
Trish
